March Favourites

Hi beauts! As the title may suggest I'm going to be talking you through my beauty favourites for the month of March. I haven't really accumulated anything new this month but I've definitely rediscovered a few old favourites, and since I haven't done many favourites on this blog, I thought I'd talk you through them anyway!

Kiko Precision Lip Pencil in 300
I featured this in my mini haul a few weeks back, and I can safely say it has already been well loved! It's the perfect liner for nearly all nude lipsticks, I'd say. It glides on easily and is very pigmented, there are certain looks where I want the liner to be visible, so I love this quality in the pencil. I've been using it non stop with anything from drugstore to MAC lipsticks, and it really is the perfect match! I cannot speak highly enough of this product, and will definitely have to pick up a few more shades.

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in 725 Tantelizing Taupe
Oh shock, a nude lipstick. I'm serious though, nude obsession is something else at the moment! Anyway, this is a very light muted nude, and with my pale complexion, it really works. The only thing with this one is you do have to almost build it up, but the finish is lovely and you do get a lovely colour out of the product. It's very much my everyday go to at the moment, and I love it!

Bourjois Smokey Eyes Trio
This beauty was actually part of a free gift box I got with a Bourjois purchase, so I didn't really pay anything for it, and for the quality of this that is amazing! It's perfect for the staple black smokey eye, I use this primarily for my nights out where I want a deeper smoke to my shadow. The colours blend really well together and are really pigmented as well, grade A product.

Barry M Super Chic Eyeshadow Palette
This was a really old purchase actually, way back before Christmas! But I've recently rediscovered this one and I'm so glad I have! It's shades are all shimmery and are absolutely stunning, my everyday eye look is normally a glittery nude/brown smokey eye at the moment, and this palette really helps me to achieve that. The palette includes an eyeshadow primer as well, which was great when I first bought the palette, but after about 3 uses the quality really deteriorated and was basically useless, that's the only downside but I have my MAC paint pots for bases anyway, so I'm not too bothered about that, and the palette is a dream!

Bourjois Volume Max Holidays Mascara
This is another product I received in the free Bourjois gift box, and this gift box was a complete dream to be given for free. This mascara has a double domed applicator which allows it to catch all the eyelashes and really give them volume, I sometimes pair this with my Rimmel Lash Accelorator Endless when I want some separation too, mainly because I hate wearing falsies and this duo gives the illusion of false lashes, but when it's on it's own it does a great job of volumising my lashes.

Maybelline Matte Maker Mattifying Powder
This is a new purchase actually, I'm never one for bothering with face powders, quite a lot of the time I just get the cheapest option, but I picked this one up in a Maybelline 3 for 2 offer and didn't really expect it to be much better than any of my previous powders, but the way this mattifies my face is really something else! It's a perfect colour match and just keeps my face matte for the entire day, I don't even have to reapply it much at all, and that's all I can want from a face powder!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
And another rediscovery, since purchasing my MAC pro longwear concealer I've barely reached for this, but I've been wanting a more natural look recently as I'm in rehearsals 9-5 most days, I've been reaching for this one a lot more, and I've fallen back in love with it. It may not counteract my dark circles completely, but for blemishes and colour correction, it really does the job for me.

That's everything I've got for the month of March guys! Please check back for more posts from me soon.

Glam Night Out

Hi lovelies! I'm coming at you today with a tutorial for a glam night out look, I'm not one for overdoing my make up on a night out, so it's just a more colourful version of my normal look!

1) I do my normal foundation/contouring routine but I normally amp up the contour a bit, just for the glamourous factor! I then did my brows as normal with my trusty L'Oreal brow artist genius kit, which I am still absolutely loving by the way, but I knew that would be the case! I start with the eyes and for a base I obviously used my MAC Painterley paint pot, then I took another one of my wonderful rediscoveries which is the Bourjois smokey eyes trio, I used the lightest all over the lid, the second as the crease colour, and using the darkest shade further define the crease with a smaller shader brush.

2) I then took my favourite blush which is from the Maybelline bronzer blush duo so I'm not sure on the shade, but it's really subtle and I love the way it picks up my cheeks!

3) Finally I took my Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick in the shade Hot Pepper, which I have been loving on nights out recently, such a true pillar box red that really screams glamour to me!

I also want to add my favourite addition to my outfits on nights out as well, these are the Silver Glitter Stud Earrings* from the wonderful earpiercing range at Body Jewellery Shop. I'm not one for big dangly earrings, and I always have a problem with cheaply made earrings, they make my lobes really sensitive and I have to take them out from the pain, and I have actually been able to wear these constantly since I received them, which is a big plus for me as I have really missed wearing earrings. These are really beautiful and there is such a huge range to choose from, there are so many beautiful pieces on their website so do check them out here.

So that's my glam night out look for you guys, I really hope you enjoyed reading and please check back for more from me.

Werewolf Look

Hi guys, something a little different for you today! I did a post like this back around Halloween time and I really enjoyed it, so here's another character look.

I'm off to a costume party on Friday and I was also sent these beautiful yellow contacts by the lovely people at SPOOKY EYES and these are in the style Avatar (find them here), I have never worn contacts before so I was, to be honest, a bit scared of trying these but I have always loved how they looked, so I thought I'd bite the bullet and try them out. It did take me a few wears to get used to them and for my eyes to stop watering constantly, but as soon as my eyes had time to adjust they really are very comfortable, and after a whole I forgot I was wearing them! (Nearly went to sleep in them, don't do that, so dangerous!)

Anyway this is how I created this awesome Werewolf look:

1) First things first is to pop in your contacts, this way if your eyes water you won't ruin any of the look, I popped the contact on my middle finger and fed it in to the outer side of my eye, blinked a few times for it to position itself and then they were fine, I really rate these contacts, even though I really have no comparison, but a few of my friends made me aware that some character contacts were really stiff and uncomfortable, but I really didn't get that impression from these guys, they were so easy to apply and really comfortable to wear, check out their other styles at SPOOKY EYES

2) Next you need to create a flawless base to work on, it doesn't really matter about your skin colour so I just did my normal foundation routine (all products will be listed below)

3) I then started by defining the eyebrows, the big bushy brows are what really make this look so realistic, I bought the start of my eyebrows in a bit further, almost to the bridge of the nose, and then filled them in as normal, I then used a brown lipstick (cream eyeshadow or any kind of cream make up would work for this, as long as it's matte, the shimmer will not work for this look) and I used this to create extra hairs around the brow, and it should look something like this
I also went through it with a black creamy shadow to make sure they weren't just one colour, and I used hairspray on a normal old spoolie to keep these in place.

4) I then took a dark brown shadow to contour my cheek bones, under the jaw and also down the centre of my forehead in an upside down triangle shape. Then, using the same technique as we did with the eyebrows, add the extra hair detail.

5) For the eyes I wanted to keep it really simple, I started with a base of my MAC paint pot in Painterly, then I just used the same brown shade that I contoured with to sweep over the lid, then took my eyebrow kits darker brown colour to define the crease and I took this pretty much up to the brow bone, you could add mascara, and even falsies, if you wanted to sexify this look a bit too!

6) I didn't want too much on the lips either, so I took my Kiko lip pencil in the shade 300 which is a true brown, and just filled them in with that, no lippy or anything as I wanted a matte effect.

And this is the finished look, I hope you enjoyed something a little more interesting and fun today as I definitely enjoyed creating this look! As usual I'll list all the products below and please check back for more posts.

February Favourites

Hi my lovelies, so today I've got my February favourites for you, these are favourite make up products I've used throughout February, so I thought I'd give you the low down!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid
So I finally purchased this foundation which I had been lusting after for months! I'm an avid viewers of beauty YouTubers as well as the blogging community, and this was constantly raved about! I always had the issue of my foundation creasing and sliding around, basically, so I knew this would be the perfect solution to that issue! Needless to say I was not disappointed, it sticks in place all day and I never have to worry about reapplying. Honestly the best foundation I have ever used.

L'Oreal Brow Artist Genius Kit
I picked up this little beauty about a month ago when L'Oreal were doing their two products for £12 deal, and as this was usually £9 I had to jump at the chance. I always used shadow to fill in my brows and it just never had the intensity I was after, so I figured a wax was the way to go. This palette includes a wax and a perfect shadow shade, so I'm able to create the shape I was with the wax and then add some darker tones with the shadow, also this palette comes with an angled brush and spoolie, as well as a mini pair of tweezers. I can say I've been overjoyed with my brows ever since using this product, and I will probably repurchase this over and over!

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot
Whilst I was perusing MAC after purchasing the Studio Fix, I was reminded how much people rave about their paint pots, so I thought I'd pick one up for myself. I chose the shade Painterly as it's a perfect skin tone match for me, I use it as a base for my shadow now, or simply to block out the veins on my eyes, and I have to say I've seen a dramatic change in the wearability of my eyeshadow, it would normally smudge and crease in to oblivion, but now there it literally no change from when I apply it at 8am to when I come home at 6:30pm, I don't know how I ever survived without this! I'll definitely be picking up some other colours soon, I cannot rave enough about this product! Perfection, A+ and all that!

MAC Lipstick in Twig
Since my obsession with lipstick started, only about 7/8 months ago, I've been pining after MAC lipsticks, their lasting power, pigmentation and quality really have no comparison. When I finally had the money to splurge I decided to go for a deep nude, a colour I have been loving also, so I went for the Satin finish lipstick Twig. It really is the perfect every day lip colour for me, and I certainly was not disappointed with the quality, it was everything I had hoped! I definitely see me harbouring a huge collection in the near future, watch out for that!

L'Oreal Infallible Mattifying Base
I'm always switching up my primers, purely for experimental purposes, so along with my brow palette I picked up this beauty, and what a beauty it is. I've seen such an improvement in the look of my skin when just using this, it really does smooth out all imperfections and keeps my face matte all day, and I do have a problem with an oily T-Zone so this is the perfect solution for me, and even without the deal it is completely affordable if you don't want to fork out silly amounts, this will do the job very well.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
And along with the rest of my MAC haul I picked up a fabulous concealer, I have a serious problem with dark circles and these really just eradicate them completely, and nothing ever has! I'm so glad I picked this up, it was the best decision! I have the shade NW20 and this is the perfect shade to counteract those pesky circles, as well as any spots or blemishes I may have, it really is Grade A and this is another product I'll be repurchasing.

So those are my favourite products of February, I hope you enjoyed reading, please check back for more posts.

Current Look | February

Hi guys, little late here, but here's my current look for February. I'm so busy with my course at the moment, I'm currently rehearsing to play the role of Wendla in our final production of Spring Awakening, too excited, but obviously it's a lot of work and I'm in 9 until 6 most days! So because of that my looks been pretty simple, which is also why I'm in my lounge gear in these photos! (attractive)

But anyway, here are the products I used to create my everyday February look

L'OREAL INFALLIBLE MATTIFYING BASE PRIMER
MAC STUDIO FIX FLUID (NW13)
MAC PRO LONGWEAR CONCEALER (NW20)

MAC Cyber

Hi loves, I thought I'd create a make up look based entirely around my recent purchase of MACs Cyber Lipstick, a beautiful vampy lipstick that definitely requires a nice smokey eye to accompany it.

Here is the step by step of how I created this look:

1) Now with my other recent purchases, I do have a new foundation routine. I start by moisturising with my Nivea Day Cream (for combination skin) and then applying my L'Oreal Infallible Mattifying Primer all over my face. Then I took my beloved MAC Studio Fix Fluid (NW13) and applied that all over, then concealed with MACs Pro Longwear Concealer (NW20) underneath my eyes, down the bridge of my nose and over any blemishes. Then I set that all in to place with my Kiko Soft Light Powder (02). This eye look was created with my favourite palette which is the "What You Waiting For?" Palette by Makeup Revolution, find a run down of the colours included in my Smokey Red look. I use the colour Super Hot Female as a contour, underneath my cheek bones, my temples, under my jaw bone and the sides of my nose.

2) As a base for my eyes I used MACs Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterley, this blocks out my veins and any redness and allows the shadow to stay put longer. I started by defining the crease with the colour Stupid H.. which is a stunning shimmery brown, and over the rest of my lid I used the colour Tick Tock, a beautiful muted gold which created a lovely shimmered smokey eye. I then created a small cat eye flick with my trusty Seventeen High Drama Liquid Liner, and then took my favourite mascara combination which is the Bourjois Max Volume Mascara and the Rimmel Lash Accelerator, the Bourjois one created volume whilst the Rimmel one really adds length and gives great separation to the lashes.

3) My eyebrows are done with L'Oreals Brow Artist Palette, I use the wax to outline and create the shape, then the powder to fill those babies in, to set them I simply spray a spoolie with some cheap hairspray, does exactly the same job as expensive setting gels.

4) This lip look was created with my newest favourite lip liner, which is the Collection Extreme 24HR Felt Lip Liner in the colour Purple, this really is an amazing lip liner, it's a nightmare to remove but it really does have the best staying power and prevent the lipstick from bleeding. And, of course, over the top of that I used MACs Cyber lipstick, which is a Satin finish, so it's not completely Matte but it's also not too glossy.

Make Up Haul

Hello loves! Long time no see, but unfortunately I've had show week, auditions and lots of essays due so there's really been no time. But I did take a nice trip to Westfield the other day and I thought I'd share my purchases with you guys.

So I picked up some lovely bits from MAC and Kiko, the stores in Westfield are huge and the staff were so lovely and helpful, I have heard some bad things about staff rudeness in MAC specifically, and as I'd never been to a MAC store before this day, I was actually quite nervous. But they were so lovely, and as I knew what I wanted they were able to help me quickly.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid (NW13)

So I have been wanting this for so long, and I've just not had the money for it, I've only ever used drug store foundations, and yes they look great when first applied, but if I've got a long day ahead of me, then I pretty much know my make up is going to look like poop by the end of it. I'd heard such good things about the Studio Fix fluid, so I saved up and got this beauty for myself. I have go say I absolutely love it, it stays in place all day, I went in to Central for the whole day yesterday, there was drizzle and wind and it still looked perfect when I got home at 11, I am in love!

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (NW20)

And to go along with that I got the Pro Longwear concealer, and really my opinion on this is the same as the Studio Fix, it really does exactly what it says, it does not budge, and it really combats my dark circles, it's made me a lot more confident with those pesky dark circles!

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot (Painterley)

I have also wanted one of these for the longest time too, my eyeshadow always smudges because I have quite cheap palettes, they're beautiful colours and great to blend but their staying power really isn't great, but since using this they are setting so well, and this way I don't have to fork out on expensive palettes, this literally does all that work!

MAC Lipsticks (Cyber, Twig)

I finally picked up some MAC lipsticks of my own! I haven't tried Cyber yet, but Twig has already had some serious love, they're both Satin finishes and, well Twig at least, is beautiful, stays put and is also very moisturising on my lips, can't complain at all, and I can see my MAC lipstick obsession starting here... (Expensive obsession, boo!)

Kiko Precision Lip Pencil (300)

I also picked up this little beauty, it's the perfect nude liner, my old one is slightly too dark for true nude shades, but this is perfect, goes lovely with Twig and Kiko is so reasonably priced!

Kiko Soft Light Powder (02)

Not that I really needed this, but at least I have a spare when I run out of powder! This is lovely on my skin and really evens everything out, a trusty little powder and again, so reasonably priced.

So that was my little haul for you guys, I hope you enjoyed reading and please check back for more posts.
