Smokey Red

Hey guys, I thought I would come at you with another look tutorial, as I had an overwhelmingly lovely response from the last one, and as I am super busy with rehearsals at the moment these posts are quite easy to do in the little down time I have.

So I wanted to create a smokey eye with a nice bold red lip, so I mainly used another Revolution palette for this look, much like the last, but this is the Revolution "What You Waiting For?" Palette. So let's jump right in.

1) I won't bore you with my foundation routine again, but if you'd like to read about it then you can have a look at the Winter Neutral post I did previously and it goes in to full detail there, but I am trialling a new primer as I'm running seriously low on my Facefinity one, so the one I used on this look is the L'Oreal Infallible Mattifying Primer, and I have to say I was very happy with the product, it's more of a silicone texture which I like, it's compatible to the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer which I love but cannot afford right now, and there was a 2 products for £12 deal at the L'Oreal stand so I picked that up and another new trial featured in this look which was the Brow Artist palette, which includes a wax, powder and angled brush, and also a mini set of tweezers, I had never tried brow waxes before but I think it turned out very well for a first attempt. Anyway back in to the actual tutorial, rambling as per Emily, I used my Bourjois 24HR cream eyeshadow as a base and I can't actually find the colour code on the product, but it's the white shimmer one, as I said I primarily used the "What You Waiting For?" palette, so here's a breakdown of the colours included

So, as a starter I took Your Capable across the lid up to the brow bone, it's the tone closest to my skin so I just used it as a base, then I took the colour Do It Alone across the lid and smoked it out at the edges with a small fluffy brush, then it took Stupid H.. On the outer corner and swept it through the creases, always remembering to blend kids! Then, on a tiny fluffy brush, I took the colour Tick Tock and just packed that on to the centre of the lid, it creates a lovely dimension to the eye and really brings these colours together. I took Stupid H.. on my bottom lash line as well.

2) So after the eyeshadow look I moved on to the liner, and as always I took my beloved Seventeen High Drama Liquid Liner and created a small cat eye flick look, I also took this very slightly on the bottom lash line to add to the smokey effect. I then finished off the eye look with my favourite mascara which is the Rimmel Lash Eccelerator Endless, they create beautiful length to the lashes and they show through well even through the deep smokey eye.

3) Then on to the lips, I wanted to use this lipstick in a look for so long and I thought this was the perfect time. First I lined my lips with Barry M Lip Liner in shade 3, which is a pinky red colour, then on the lips I used Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Cherry Kiss

So that's the finished look, really simple and really versatile as well, I hope you guys enjoyed this look and please check back for more posts.

Winter Neutral Look

Hi guys, I haven't done a tutorial in a while, but today I've got my winter neutral look, and I'll talk you through how to get this look which I think is perfect for winter.

1) First thing is to create a flawless base, so I took my foundation, which is the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, and liberally plonked that all over my face and blended that in with my My Make Up Brush Set Foundation Brush, and then my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and I took that underneath my eyes, on my forehead to create a bit of highlight and then on a few spots that have popped up recently, thanks guys nice to see you again. Next, for contouring, I took my Maybelline Bronzer and Blush duo on a large angled brush in my cheekbones, on my temples and across my jawline, then using the blush from the combo I popped a bit of that on the apples of my cheek. Then, to finish, I set all that in place with my Rimmel Clear Complexion powder.

2) Next I did my eyebrows, but I just use a cheap brown eyeshadow to fill them in and that's it so really next I did my eyeshadow. I created this look mostly with the Run Boy Run palette by Revolution and here's a run down of the palette and it's colours, the top 12 are shimmer shades, and the bottom 6 are matte shades.

first I took the colour closest to my skin colour to create a nice base to work with which was the colour Follow Me, then I took Head To The Hills all over the lid with a small fluffy brush, then I took Run Boy Run on a small angled brush through the crease to create the basis for the contour, I did this as I used the shimmery colours later and they aren't as pigmented so they do need a base. I took the gorgeous bronze colour Don't Have To Hide Away over the crease colour, then I mixed it up a bit ( barely!) and took my Max Factor Wild Shadow Pot in the shade Golden Amazon (featured here) and packed that on the centre of my eyelid. Then, as per usual, I took my Seventeen Liquid Eyeliner and created a small cat eye flick over the shadow. Finally was mascara, I took a mixture of the Rimmel Lash Accelorator and the Bourjois Clubbing Mascara to create long, voluptuous lashes.

3) And finally on to lips, I mentioned this lip combo in my January Favourites, and this is the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in 064 Obsession and Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in the shade 220 Heather Shimmer, this is my favourite winter lip and it goes with nearly every make up look.

And that's the finished look, it's so wearable and with a gorgeous winter outfit it looks so chic, if I do say so myself. I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial and let me know your favourite winter products below.

January Favourites

Hi loves! Today I have my January favourites for you, so you know how this works, I'm going to talk you through all the products I've been loving throughout the month of January, this includes, beauty, skincare, haircare and some random favourites too. So let's go for it.

(Top left and middle left) So I'll start with beauty makeup bits, first is a recent purchase but a firm new favourite. And it's the MUA Conceal and Prime Palette which is a colour correcting concealer palette, I bought the fair palette and I have really wanted one of these for a while, I have pretty dark circles and hormonal redness around various areas of my face which, sometimes, standard concealer really doesn't cover up well, and I wanted to trial this kind of product before maybe splurging out on something like the MAC concealer palette, so I saw this in my local Superdrug and I couldn't not pick it up as it was only £4! Obviously I doubt it's as good coverage as the higher end products, but I'm still really happy with the colour correction it gives, the green is great around the redness of my nose and the yellow is wonderful around the purple areas of my eyes. All in all I really can't complain about this at all, and it's made it in to my favourites as I've been using this every single day, and I don't know how I went without!

(Bottom left) Moving on to another concealer, it is the holy grail of concealers for most bloggers/vloggers and it's, of course, the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer which I bought in fair. I, for some reason, had never actually got round to trying this, I think I may have tried it way back when I didn't really care about make up so couldn't appreciate it's glory! So I thought for the grand old price of £4.19 I had to finally give it a try. And obviously, I was not disappointed, it's got such good coverage and it's so long lasting as well, everything you could wish for from a concealer, so really couldn't be happier with it, and I can definitely see myself repurchasing this over and over again.

(Top right) This is a little lip combo I've rather been enjoying throughout the month, and it's the Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in 064 Obsession which is a deep brown/nude shade, and over the top of this I like to put the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in 220 Heather Shimmer, which is another brown/nude shade, I really love nude lips at the moment, and in the winter freeze I think it looks lovely with rosy cheeks that come naturally this time of year, I also think this suits my pale complexion and brown hair, which is a plus!

(Bottom right) I've also got my favourite brand of lipsticks at the moment, and it's the beautiful Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet matte lipsticks. I have done a full blog post about those so check that out for more in depth talks, but at that time I only had 3, now I inexplicably have 7 (oops!) but I can't deny I love these lipsticks, if I can't be faffing about with liner and lipstick and just need something quick that I know is going to look great without too much effort, then I will always reach for these. I have the shades Grand Cru, Flambourjoise, Ole Flamingo, Hot Pepper, Peach Club, Happy Nude Year and Nude-ist.

Now I've got my haircare and skincare favourites, I only have one of each this time but normally there would be more, definitely!

(Top photo) My holy grail skincare product of this month is 100% the Garnier PureActive Micellar Cleansing Water I was always one of the people who never bothered with fancy make up removers, it was simply some cheap make up wipes that I normally picked up by the till at Primark or Poundland even! But I always used to break out, and it always seemed to be those horrible under the skin spots that never actually come through but are so painful. So I thought it was time to change, and every blogger/vlogger and their dog talks about this product, so I jumped aboard the bandwagon and purchased this beauty, and I have not looked back. It's so much easier and quicker than make up wipes, and this way I'm not continuiously rubbing a grubby make up wipe back over my face, so I am so happy with how this a) takes off my make up quickly and easily, and b) how much my skin has been cleared and refreshed by this new routine, so A+ all round.

(Bottom photo) And this was featured in my current haircare routine, and it is, of course, the Garnier Ultimate Blends Sleek Perfector Oil this has helped my hair out so much, I begrudge having my ends cut at the hairdressers, and they normally use the excuse that "oh but look how split your ends are!" And with this, there's barely any damage to the ends of my hair anymore, and it also leaves my whole head feeling soft and sleek, which is never the norm for my hair, so I'm loving that. I just pump 5-6 pumps in my hand and put that through the ends and then brush it through the rest with my Original Tangle Teezer, it's so simple! And I've used this every single time I've washed my hair for a month now and there's barely any gone, there's still way over two thirds left of the stuff.

Now on to my more random favourites this month, and it's definitely got to be Smoothies, I purchased myself a BlendActive blender about a week ago now (I know it's fast but when you know you just know) and I need a lot more fruit in my diet at the moment due to some health issues, and I can't bear sitting down and eating fruit, so I thought a healthy way would be to get myself a blender to avoid that anxiety. And I thought I'd share with you my favourite smoothie recipe! I love to add 2 bananas, a few slices of watermelon, melon and kiwi, a few strawberries and then pop about 3 tablespoons of natural yoghurt in there as well, it makes it taste like a sweet sweet milkshake! Now I bought this beauty for just £19.99 from Argos, it was in the sale so I don't know about current prices but it's such a good buy!

Now I've got my favourite YouTubers, they do tend to vary in some respects, but a lot of the time I do tend to watch the same good old people. But here they are this month!
